engine all done and dusted, coming back down tomorrow and going to get the shov back in one piece - happy days
first off of the winter
my joy morning commute - winters here proper now. i have about a mile of this great road to get out then onto main roads. my wonderful council hasnt even gritted the main roads when i got to them - happy days - went down on the main road when the rear wheel decided it wanted to go faster than the front - not to worry - im built to bounce.
back on the bench
Dad is finishing the engine off as i type so i should have it back here for xmas. throwing it in there over the holidays.
have taken 7 inches out of the bar width that i wasnt happy with before, added foot clutch / police style tank shift. started the clean up - i forgot there was shiny stuff under all the oil and road crap that was caked all over the bike - its been leaking like a stuck pig for the last few thousand miles so was in real need of the engine rebuild. crapping itself on the tipple run this year just pushed me into it like now.
snow day
ok so winters here. the plan was to be ready for winter with the trike but as ever with my personal builds - missed deadline again...
moved it out of the main workshop so i could get the shovel ready for getting its heart back next week. it looks at home in the snow. its damn close to being done - wiring and a few adjustments but nearly there. another couple or three days work on it will see it there

shovel update
never too happy with the lump of billet they supply to bolt the mag to the motor. well got the thing glass bead blasted and it looks a lot more in keeping now - bit of muck on it and it will kinda pass for cast, sorta....
and the little fella is now riding up front - decided to go with the tank shift

Got the bits and pieces propped together today and the stance is sorted. need to make struts up and get the motor back in 1 piece, but im loving it
my first proppa choppa
Just found these pics of my first rigid bike. Was great fun to ride pretty tatty and noisy as hell. i didnt build it, just modified, like battery pack in pannier with those wires running to it - total loss system that would JUST get me to work off a full battery jump-start pack for a car. nice carry mat and duct tape seat - 2 layers of comfort. was fun while it lasted - but the engine was on its arse and the charging side was completely dead so i sold it for cheap and moved onwards and upwards.

nothing fancy on this bike but getting the engine back together over xmas holiday. make up some proper struts instead of the makeshift angle iron i have in there to work out the stance. its dropped 3" at the minute - ill probably take it back up 1/2"but thats all.
think street / strip slammed 80s thing - well ive got it in my head anyways....
We like Compression
New wiseco piston on right going into shovel motor against the old one - with that extra compression and an AB cam instead of the A it should go pretty good.
